Our donors ensure that everyone in #OurALSCommunity has the support groups and other services they need to remain connected and informed. By giving today, you can help us guarantee that no person diagnosed with ALS ever feels alone.

Liz Fassler regularly attends the SW Washington Support Group and appreciates the sense of camaraderie it provides. A military veteran who works as a special education teacher, she was diagnosed with ALS in 2019 at the age of 46.

Liz says that she’s learned that willpower alone won’t help her effectively confront the disease. Support groups give Liz and others a greater sense of control by offering a safe space where they can bond, commiserate, and share lived experiences.

Says Liz: “These support groups provide us with a great deal of comfort. Our facilitators and people living with ALS give to each other to build a close community and hope.”

Your donation will offer a sense of collective support to Liz and other people living with ALS.

Your gift to The ALS Association Oregon & SW Washington Chapter provides hope to families facing a challenging diagnosis by supporting ALS clinics, medical equipment, adaptive technology, ALS research, and more.

By choosing to give today, you ensure that nearly 600 individuals and their families receive the top-notch services that are the cornerstone of our mission.
