This is my 8th Ride to Defeat ALS. The 2020 ride was VIRTUALIZED (read CANCELED) but this year the ride is back in person and it's THIS SATURDAY, JULY 17th!
Team VBC / nLIGHT rides in support of BRIAN EPP, JOHN MEYER, MICHAEL MACIELEWICZ (a team member), and TAZ ROBERTS and in memory of DYLAN DARLING, FRED NOBLE, ARLENE SABATINO, and JANET EMETAZ.
No hard sell or guilt trips. Just me giving you the opportunity to support a really worthy cause. All gifts are tax deductible. Please know any amount helps and that every dollar makes a difference in the fight! Some charities have really high overhead - this one does not. Some charities have admin staff that see their positions as simply a job, this group of folks in OR and SW WA are different!
Why YOU should GIVE . . .
Sometimes referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease", Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that robs a person of their ability to walk, speak, swallow and eventually breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages only 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. In that very short period of time, the person and their family need a myriad of services and support and the ALS Association and their local chapters are a vital resource. Through local monthly support groups, medical equipment loan closets, caregiver support, partnerships with multi-disciplinary clinics, and so much more - services are provided at no cost to the person with ALS and their family. The local chapter receives no government or insurance funding, but is supported through events like the Ride to Defeat ALS.
My friend Brian Epp is still fighting after more than 10 years - join the fight and support the ride!
