2018 Ride to Defeat ALS

We're riding for Brian Epp, John Meyer and Taz Roberts and in memory of Dylan Darling, Fred Noble, Alrene Sabatino, and Janet Emetaz.

Just a group of local cyclists, we can't do it without you - our friends and family!  Please join with us literally and/or cooperatively us as we hit the roads around Mt. Angel, Oregon on Saturday, July 14th.  Without your help, it's just a ride.  With your help, Team VBC will truly be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Sometimes referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease", ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that robs a person of their ability to walk, speak, swallow and eventually breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages only 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. In that very short period of time, the person and their family need a myriad of services and support and the ALS Association and their local chapters are a vital resource. Through local monthly support groups, medical equipment loan closets, caregiver support, partnerships with multi-disciplinary clinics, and so much more - services are provided at no cost to the person with ALS and their family. The local chapter receives no government or insurance funding, but is supported through events like the Ride to Defeat ALS.

So please support our efforts by donating to a team member or joining our team today!
