On the evening of May 15th, Dawn Huttl peacefully
passed. Her time with Lou Gehrig’s
disease is over. She joins the Lord and
her mother as she looks over us from Heaven.
We will see her again.
Dawn was a long time resident of the Rogue Valley. She grew up in Talent with her father and
mother Don and Darla Borns, and two sisters Kristi (Kelly) and Penny
(Garibay). Dawn attended Talent Middle
School and Phoenix High School, where she was a top student and participated in
band, basketball and cheerleading. She
stopped credits shy of her Nursing degree at SOU so she could raise her family.
Some may remember Dawn as Dawn Hagler. After high school she married area athlete,
teacher and coach Joe Hagler. That
blessed union gave them three children; Annie Hagler, Holly (Campbell) and Joey
Hagler. Holly and her husband Matthew
have two children; Kamryn and Nolan. Dawn’s
kids and grandkids were the lights of her life.
Others may remember Dawn as the smiling face and friendly voice
at Doctor Chris Morgan’s office. In her
decades as his assistant, she deeply cared for each of her patients. Children were her favorites, and in that
sense Dawn helped raise countless valley youth.
Later in life, Dawn married John Huttl. John is a local attorney, teacher and sports
official. They enjoyed spending time
with friends and family. They traveled
as much as they could. It was a special
treat when friends and loved ones joined them and their dog Jake camping at the
coast.
Donations can be made to The ALS Association Oregon and SW Washington Chapter's Walk to Defeat ALS under the team name
Dawn’s Dynamos.
