WALKING FOR MY SON, MICAH!
#RememberMicah #WalkForMicah
You Choose Where You Want to Walk!
Join us online on Saturday, May 15, 2021 for our virtual Walk to Defeat ALS! The event will be live-streamed, where our entire state will come together and celebrate. The link to join will be shared in advance, along with more details, very soon! It will be an awesome event!
Micah Joseph Holz Hilario, age 42, peacefully ended his earthly journey at home in Vancouver, WA April 14, 2020 after a courageous 9 1/2 year battle with ALS. Micah was a brave man who acted with determination and kindness. He was a hero to many and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
I am raising money for Team Micah & the SW Washington Walk to Defeat ALS. Please help me, our team and the ALS Association by walking virtually with us and donating. I have supported this event for the last 10 years, in honor of my son who was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 33. Friends and family walk for him and for ALL PALS so they may have access to a wonderful support group, to a loan closet where they can obtain walkers, wheelchairs and supplies to cope with the day to day challenges of living with this terrible disease. We all hope for a cure some day. Raising money for the ALS Association will help further research for a cure. Thank you for your support.

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
Thank you for your support!
You can also make a check payable to the ALS Association, write Team Micah in the memo and send it to: The ALS Association, 700 NE Multnomah St. #210, Portland, OR 97232.
ROCK ON!
