The Walk will be held in your own neighborhood on Saturday, May 15 2021!
Below are some helpful links and tips to get you started!
Why isn't the Walk to Defeat ALS in person this year?The health and safety of people living with ALS, their family members, caregivers, and all event participants is our top priority. We believe with the current local and state recommendations, it is in everyone’s best interest to go virtual this year.

What are you going to do to make this event virtual this year?Join us online on Saturday, May 15 for our virtual Walk to Defeat ALS! The event will be live-streamed, where our entire state will come together and celebrate. The link to join will be shared in advance, along with more details, very soon! Our team is working hard to make this an awesome event!
Will there be a Kick-Off Event?YES! We will be hosting a virtual kickoff event soon, so stay tuned! We will create a Facebook group and email you the details shortly.
Fundraising on Facebook1. Log on to the participant center. Need your username or password? Email Monica.Perez@alsoregon.org and we will take care of you! Please allow a 48 hour response time Monday-Friday.
2. Click on the blue box, "Raise More Money With Facebook"
3. Click on "Continue as YOUR NAME," then select "OK"

Fundraising IncentiveThe Walk to Defeat ALS commemorative t-shirt is back and better than ever! Raise $100 or more, and you will receive a shirt. Your local Development Coordinator will get in touch with you about how we will get you your shirt, and what size you need once you have earned the incentive. The shirt design will be revealed here soon, so check back to see this year's design!
Personalize your Personal PageYour personal page is the place to tell your story and let everyone know why you have become a part of the Walk to Defeat ALS and why finding a cure for ALS is so important to you. Be sure to update your page with a photo too!
Send Emails EasilyDid you know that you can send emails right through your Participant Center? Just login and take a look at the email section to get started. There are already some templates built out for you, all you have to do is add your contacts to spread awareness and kickstart your fundraising.
Make a Self-DonationDid you know that someone that donates to themselves is proven to have a larger impact on our fundraising events? Everyone will be able to see how committed you are to the cause. Jump start your fundraising with a self-donation today!
Progress is PowerfulOn your personal page you will be able to see all the activity from donors and all the updates that you have made. Be sure to thank those that have donated and helped you raise your bar towards your fundraising goal and our shared goal of creating a world without ALS.
Match those Gifts!Many companies will match a gift made by an employee. Some companies even triple match or match pooled gifts. This is a great way to boost your fundraising with just a few clicks of the mouse!
How do I register? Help! I can't remember my username or password!Did you participate last year? Have you ever registered for any of our other events? Do you receive our e-newsletter or Connections? If you answered YES to any of the questions above, then you have a username and password for our website! We recommend logging in before you register to make the process easy for you. The system will likely remember you and all your past information, including edits to your personal pages.

How do I change my personal fundraising goal?Login to your Participant Center. At the top of that page, you will see your current goal and a link to change it directly below it. Or you can contact us and we can do it for you.
How can I see who has donated on my behalf?Login to your Participant Center. Click the Progress tab at the top of the page, then scroll down to view your donor list. You can also download a list of your supporters from this page.
How can I enter a donation that someone has given me?Please send all checks to the Chapter office as you receive them so our Staff can enter them online on your behalf. Our address is 700 NE Multnomah St., Suite 210, Portland OR 97232. Please be sure to write who or which team the donation is intended for on the memo line.
How can I see who is on my team?Login to your Participant Center, then click on View Team Roster from the navigation on the right side of the page.
