Registration and Participant Center FAQs
How do I register?
Did you participate last year? Have you ever registered for any of our other events? Do you receive our e-newsletter, Connections? If you answered YES to any of the questions above, then you have a username and password for our website! We recommend logging in before you register to make the process easy for you! The system will remember you and all of your past information, including edits to your personal pages.
Remember to register by May 1st to take advantage of the Earlybird Adult Registration Fee of $25 ($10 for participants under 17). After May 1st, the fee will return to $35 ($15 for under 17). We encourage everyone to register by June 30, 2017 so we can be sure to have a proper headcount, but we will accept day-of registrations for $45 (adult) and $20 (under 17).
If you are unable to attend the event, you may also be involved in the Ride to Defeat ALS as a Virtual Participant. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how.
What are the costs involved, and what do they provide?
To participate in the Ride to Defeat ALS, each person must pay a registration fee and commit to raise a minimum of $150 in support of the event. There are different costs for adults and children, and guests are welcome to join us for the Finish Line Celebration - the more, the merrier! The guest registration fee is just $15 and includes food, drink and entertainment galore. We encourage guests to register by June 30, 2017, but will accept day-of guests as well.
The $150 in fundraising requirement makes this event a true team effort and helps support families living with ALS in our community.

I am a person with ALS. In what ways can I participate?
Registration fees are waived for persons with ALS. All people, including those with ALS, are still required to meet the $150 in fundraising.
I have an account, but I don’t remember my username or password. What do I do?
Please call us at 800.681.9851 x106 and we will reset your information at our earliest convenience.
What is a Personal Page?
Your Personal Page is an online promotional tool to use when asking your friends and family to join your team or make a donation. Once you're registered, a personal page is automatically created for you. You can customize this page with photos and your personal story by logging into your Participant Center. Our staff is here to help you every step of the way.
Do I have to change my Personal Page?
You don't have to, but we know from experience that the participant’s personal touch makes the page more compelling to prospective donors. Be creative and have fun with it. Please know we are here to help you do this.
How do I change my personal fundraising goal?
Login to your Participant Center. At the top of that page, you'll see your current goal and a link to change it directly below it. Or you can contact us and we can do it for you.
How do I customize the web address for my Personal Page?
Login to your Participant Center. Click Personal Page from the options along the top of the page. In the Personal Page URL and Settings area, click Edit. Click into the field and type the text you want to use (such as your name or nickname). You may only use letters and numbers as well as the period (.), dash (-), and underscore (_) characters from your keyboard. To avoid problems, do not leave any spaces between your entries. Don't forget to click "Save'! Just give us a call if we can do this for you.
How can I see who has donated on my behalf?
Login to your Participant Center. Click the Progress tab at the top of the page, then scroll down to view your donor list. You can also download a list of your supporters from this page.
How can I enter a donation that someone has given me?
Please send in all checks to the Chapter office as you receive them, so Chapter Staff may enter them online on your behalf.
How can I see who is on my team?
Login to your Participant Center, then click on View Team Roster from the navigation on the right side of the page.

Where is the event?
The event will start and finish at Mt. Angel Community Festhalle - 500 Wilco Hwy NE, Mt. Angel, Oregon 97362. The five ride routes tour scenic country roads around beautiful Marion County, Oregon.
Where's the parking?
We encourage carpooling and street parking on Wilco Hwy. Festhalle parking will be reserved for vendors and people living with ALS.
What time does the event start?
Registration will open at 6:00 am and the Century, Metric Century, and 50 Mile Ride will have rolling starts. The 25 Mile Ride will have a group start at 9:30 am sharp, and the Family Fun Ride is a led ride taking off at 11:00 am sharp. Check the Event Information Page for specific start times.
Are non-participating family and friends allowed to join me?
Guest Registration for the Finish Line Celebration will be available in
June for $15 per person. Be on the
lookout for announcements and more information.

Are there additional charges to have a team?
No, but each member of the team is responsible for paying their individual registration fee and raising at least $150 in collected pledges from friends and family.
How many members must I have to form a team?
A team can be two people, twenty people, or more. This includes virtual participants as well.
As a team captain or member of a team, can I raise all the money and then distribute it to other members of my team?
We strongly discourage this. We believe the Ride to Defeat ALS is a transformative event. For many people, participating is a challenge. Whether it’s the physical challenge or the effort it takes to reach a fundraising goal, both components are part of the Ride to Defeat ALS experience. Having every participant raise funds makes charity events special. Everyone participating will have something in common - they provided hope to people living with ALS.

Team Captain FAQs
Please note, the features discussed below are only available to team captains.
How do I change the team name, team division, or team goal?
If you are the team captain, login to your Participant Center, select Team Page from the options along the top of the page. Under the Team Name (located in the area along the right side of your page), select Edit, then select Update. The Edit fields close as the confirmation message for your changes displays.
How do I change my team's goal?
Login to your Participant Center and select the Progress tab at the top of the page. Once there, select Team on the right side of the page. On the Team Progress page, team captains have the ability to update the team name, division and goal. Note that only the team captain has the ability to make these changes.
How do I broadcast a message to my entire team?
Login to your Participant Center, then select Edit in the Message from Your Team Captain area (located on the right navigation area). When the content entry area clears, enter your encouraging message. Then select Save. This will show up in your team members’ Participant Centers when they log in!

Will I get a t-shirt for volunteering?
Yes! You'll receive a t-shirt when you check-in at the event. Please wear it as it will help participants know that you're there to help.
Do I have to raise funds to volunteer?
No. There is no fundraising minimum to volunteer, but those wishing to fundraise get a personal page online to help them reach their fundraising goals.
My friends are participating and I plan to volunteer and raise funds. Can I join their team?
Yes! Just contact us and we'll assign you to their team.
